Overview

Artisan is a celebration of local, crafted food and drink. The development team wanted to ensure the business was authentically connected with it’s surroundings.

We established connections with the local community, sourcing local stone and stonemasonry, traditional carpentry and sculptural art within for the physical space and expressing these within the brand collateral.

This is a destination retail experience, a place to celebrate the fantastic food and drink available within the area.


Customer experience and event management

Working alongside the developer and construction teams to looked at ‘traffic’ flow, counter and service configurations, signage, seating and the overall ambience including feature artworks which celebrated the skills of local artists.

Brand development and management

Our central role was the creation of the name and brand identity, including brand guides. This project included liaison with key suppliers to ensure the look and feel of Artisan was maintained across all touch points within both the food, drink and restaurant settings.



Advertising – printed press and radio

Working with the owners we developed a series of regional printed press campaigns. This included the initial launch, thereafter we developed seasonal campaigns aligned to the time of year – spring, summer, autumn, winter/Christmas.

Marketing communications

The Artisan brand communication was developed across multiple channels, starting with the launch campaign. This included outdoor (OOH) media, printed press and PR support.

As the brand developed the scope of work evolved to include several monthly activations, these were often aligned to key ‘holidays’ and social activities. The bigger seasonal campaigns – Summer and Christmas – expanded to become multi-channel digital and physical (in-store POS).

We worked hand-in-hand with the owners, planning and reporting our activities. This involved extensive publication (digital and print) liaison.

Other key deliverables within this project included photography and video direction, design and copy writing/voice-over.

Direct mail

A series of teasers were produced for the launch campaign. These were targeted on the local area, via a series of postcard mailings.


Reputation management and public relations

Working with a local agent to share information about the purpose, products and opportunities available within the overall success of the Artisan project.


Design

This included, brand illustrations. Where our research and development activities clearly formed the direction and style of illustration and which key products we should illustrate.

Brand colours and materials. The touch and feel of Artisan materials was very important to the client. We developed a paper and print guide for materials and finishes that were aligned to the aesthetic of the building and it’s wider surroundings.

These materials included signage and menus, ensuring they followed the brand guides, materials and visual style. It also included interior artwork – large format graphics and framed art of the original brand illustrations. No detail was too small, we developed in-store labelling and a broad range of point-of-sale (POS) and promotional materials
