Overview

Working with the marketing team at Think! road safety and Cheshire Constabulary to develop the Red Routes brand. This involved establishing new opportunities to connect with local communities, increasing awareness and encouraging participation.

Brand development and management

Research is always important, for these audiences it was also powerful in shaping the overall communication strategy. This was then tested, before being implemented.

During the course of which the design developed (following feedback) before being communicated externally (via digital and OOH) as well as internally, within the various supporting organisations.

Marketing communications

Our scope included working with the marketing teams to plan campaigns, events and activations. Documenting and reporting these back to the client side teams, working together to achieve the goals.

Our projects focused on a series of seasonal campaigns. These were developed across regional press, social, web and outdoor (OOH) media.

This involved the direction of photographic, videography, design and copy writing/voice-over.

Internal communications and social responsibility

We supported the internal communications across the Cheshire force. Following the successful delivery in Cheshire, the scope was expanded, and the campaign was rolled out across Greater Manchester, Wirral and Lancashire.

Customer experience and event management

The in-person touch points were critical to these activities. What people saw and how the messages were delivered was extremely important, striking the right balance visually and verbally played a large part in the overall success of the work.

Our scope included event support – planning, design and delivery including spacial design, event management, installations, props, actors/scripts.

Budgets, outcomes and timeframe

Working with key stakeholders we clearly communicated costs and addressed any budget restrictions as well as exploring the opportunities for collaboration with other forces and third-party providers.

Outcome

The Red Routes Casualty Reduction project was launched through the Cheshire Camera Partnership, with Warrington, Halton and the previously unitary Cheshire County Council introducing the signage.

Warrington currently has seven routes with Red Route signage, and the most recent data shows that there has been a marked reduction in collision and casualty numbers on these routes.
